Hey everybody, got another blog in my raising a 3 1/2 year old category. Quick question. What’s more tiring than running after a 3 1/2 year girl? Give up? Two 3 1/2 year old girls.
Taking Care Of Two 3 Year Old Girls OMG! Part 1
My wife decided that we should baby sit her nephew’s little girl. You see, my wife comes from a big Italian family. Consequently she and her nephews are somewhat close in age. I can hear little foot steps from my hiding spot. Oh! I mean the basement writing this blog. But my wife is in her glory being a family oriented person. That’s okay, both of us love children and we couldn’t be happier to do it.
I only have my one little girl. I think that’s it for me in the baby making department. As you see I’m already 51 with a young child. Wouldn’t be fare to all concerned. Besides, I got my eye on the new 2015 Harley Fat Boy, a motorcycle to those not in the know. :-). Actually this is just a play date for the little girls. This coming Saturday will be a full blown baby sitting.
The one biggest thing that I’ve learned about taking care of a 3 1/2 year old child is, preparedness. Well, among other things but being prepared will eliminate any crying from both of you. Because if you don’t have her specific water bottle or her specific bib or if you cut her toast up and down instead of corner to corner. There’s going to be crying and tantrums will come.
Okay so let me tell you about my wife’s preparedness plan.
- Lunch: Kids like colourful and fun foods. Pastas or chicken fingers shaped like animals, kids tetra boxes
- Activities: Well lots here but my wife just took them to our neighborhood splash park. Actually it’s the community park but they have interesting styles of water fountains. Like a mushroom and every couple of minutes it sprays out water. Stuff like that.
- What if it rains: Have a contingency plan like a movie.
- For the seasoned veteran like my wife: Have stuff like popsicles on hand, band aids wouldn’t hurt, sun block.
Have I missed anything? Probably, but these are bare essentials and I think you can get by if you are leaving the house for an hour or two.
